of seeking to be more favorable to God, we should be doing what the Apostle Paul prayed the Colossians would be doing: “Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light” (Col. 1:12). The Christian is already fit. No attainment, no growth makes us any more favored or more complete—“in Him you have been made complete” (2:10).
